In the calculation of MRR, ARR and MRR

Prior to this, upgrades, downgrades, as well as add-ons, were sometimes not properly tracked or reported in subscription reporting. The issues were addressed so that calculations can improve in the coming years.

What are the changes I should see at My Store?

If you're an avid users of downgrades, upgrades or other add-ons it is possible that you will see you MRR and ARR vary slightly resulting from the updated calculation. They are much more reliable as compared to previous reports with the fixes that have been identified. If you are still unsure, please reach out to [email protected].

The past is a part of history. MRR Changes

In the past, we relied on to use the deactivation date to search for cancellation date and would then remove MRR contributions, which had the unfortunate side effect of altering historical MRR value. To solve this problem, we've improved our analytical tools to detect cancellation events that occur on the day of cancellation and take away MRR contribution on that day.

Example of Changes

We will consider the annual subscription which was activated in January 2023. It was cancelled in the month of May 2023 and it was deactivated by the end of December. Our previous MRR contribution calculation wouldn't be changed until the end of the end of December 2023. This could have altered the MRR contribution over the course of May to December of 2023.

With the date in the above example the calculation eliminates the MRR contribution from the subscription starting at cancellation in May of 2023 which results in a more accurate MRR change calculation.

What are the changes I should see in My Store?

Some sellers may cause a slight increase in cancellation counts and an increase in the MRR of active customers as well as subscriptions. If you have questions about this report, you can reach out to [email protected].
