about pursuing opportunities and a change in directions for your professional career

Prior to my move into London in 2017 I lived in a tiny town in Germany and was employed briefly as an After Effects animator. Although there weren't any challenges in my artistic abilities however, I was slowed down and I began to feel dissatisfied.

The move from London and getting to know all the wonderful animator here was a massive positive boost in my motivation. It was similar to "Damn it, I'm one cool youngsters . I've better get my gear going."

After attending the Pictoplasma Conference, I decided to get involved in the world of creative character designers. It was clear that my characters perform best with 3D which I'm studying, and isn't simple, but extremely enjoyable!

My work was observed by the people at Greenhouse Animation, and now I'm represented as director by Greenhouse Animation.

Lemonade Insurance approached me to make a work for its regular Instagram collaboration with artists. Because the company is a content insurance company and the notion of adorable everyday objects getting into trouble instantly came to your head. This is why the X-Files concept was created.

Last winter I was in lockdown to watch all the x-files so involving an iconic alien abduction seemed like the most sensible idea to pursue. The protagonists must be in the same spot at the time of ending to allow the loop in order to be actually abducted. It was my idea of creating an explosion of the washer, and the single pink socks move toward the UFO.

When I visualized my UFO and giving my UFO little legs, I was able to see how everything can become entangled inside. The UFO is missing its socks and working to retrieve it!

I believe that creating an entertaining story is ideal when mixing different items that might seem unrelated at first. Making something surprising happen and to give objects that aren't animated name by placing funny faces on them is the best way to have fun for me!

     The process of animation

My method always begins with drawing my characters as well as sketching out the outline of my story. I turned the animation into Lemonade to convey the concept and timing. Then, I shift to Cinema 4D and model all my characters. It is also the time to try out different methods and create frames.

When the animation created within Cinema 4D is done, I then switch to After Effects for finishing touches and composing. For the light beam that has a pink hue, as in above, this is accomplished by making use of After Effects.

HTML0 The audio effects as well as in collaboration with Phill Brookes

This was the first occasion I worked with the sound engineer Philip Brookes who did an outstanding job! His work lifts the whole video to a greater stage and connects it all flawlessly! This was a fantastic undertaking to work on and I'm looking forward to creating more videos like it!

We've spoken to Phil concerning the process of producing sound effects for use utilized in The X-Files project. Read the interview conducted by the Phil Brookes.

At present I'm exploring new methods of rigging characters and create stunning textures with Cinema 4D and Redshift. I'm experimenting with the blend with 2D as well as 3D animation. I'm looking forward to seeing how far my curiosity in character design can lead me in the coming years!

Artists will be given advice about how to alter a career direction

I have some suggestions to anyone wanting to change directions:

  1. Pick the strategy you like. Then, devote some time learning about it! Designing is a procedure which makes you feel like you need to know everything there is. But, this isn't what it is in reality.
  2. Consider your eccentricity seriously and don't downplay the importance of it. Your distinctiveness makes you unique. Your distinctive voice and your unique style are distinctive.
  3. Relax and take your time with your thoughts. Whatever is happening within your head, take your time and write it down!
