From creative Assignments to an extremely organized gradebook, we've spent the last few months at work designing the tools you need for a truly memorable learning experience.

Now that first-day jitters are behind you and your students are starting to settle into their new surroundings, it's time to focus on your primary course work. And we've got just the option to ensure that everything is going smoothly and according to plan.

This is the most recent update for Courses: built-in content dripping!

As with a carefully planned program, our brand new Dripping of course content feature will ensure that your students get their education precisely when they need them precisely when they require them.

Don't overwhelm your students by imposing too much on them in one go or having them sprint ahead. Dripping allows you to give your lesson content in smaller chunks to keep students engaged and eager to see what's coming up next.

With this new feature, will continue to grow with your requirements, making it easier than ever before to organize and control the content of your online courses.

What exactly is Course Content Dripping?

We've all had those moments... binge-watching a whole television show in the span of a weekend, spending all night turning the pages of a new book, and then realizing you've finished off a full bag of chocolate chip cookies... completely alone ().

When we indulge in something that is enjoyable, it may be satisfying at first however, we often end up feeling unfulfilled afterward.

Learning could be the exact way. If students absorb too much information in a short amount of time, it can lead to:

  • Fear: Worrying they missed some important detail or made a mistake.
  • regret: Wishing they had been patient enough to understand the material.
  • Doubt: Questioning if they actually comprehended the information.
  • Insanity: Overloaded by all the information you need at one time.

They're not the kind of feelings you want students to feel after completing your course.

This is where course content dripping comes in!

Instead of giving your students everything in one go, teaching content drips allow you to release material in well-timed intervals. This helps students take their time with each lesson, stay engaged, and learn more efficiently.

What Differences Will Content Dripping Bring to Your Course?

1. Build Knowledge One Step at a Time

Instead of giving students access to all content at once, dripping lets each module or lesson according to a set sequence, allowing students to build their knowledge gradually.

This step-by-step method helps students feel proud of their success and progress when they progress through the program.

Also, think about your lesson as a literal staircase, with each step being an entirely new concept. It is essential that students be able to master the first stage before moving onto the following. They must are able to grasp the basics before tackling more advanced concepts.

2. Engage students and keep them Engaged

If students are aware that new content is coming often, it creates excitement and curiosity. The anticipation helps keep them interested and they're eagerly anticipating the next lesson or course.

They are accustomed to setting aside time for each new lesson, which increases the likelihood that they'll stay connected and committed to the course from start until end.

3. Create Content Just at the Right Time

Course content dripping gives the full freedom to choose the timing and method by which you release your lesson plans and aligns them with your course timetable.

Whether you're introducing a tricky idea that requires a bit extra attention or gearing up for a big assignment that requires more time, using content drips allows you to adjust the delivery of your materials to suit the demands of both your students and the course goal.

4. Let Everyone Learn at the Same Pace

Dripping course content can be an efficient method to keep the students moving with a regular pace making sure that nobody advances too quickly or is left behind.

In releasing information at set intervals, you build a cohesive learning environment where everyone progresses in a coordinated manner.

In addition, when everyone is studying together, you are able to easily identify and address the areas in which students may require extra help, making sure nobody is left out in the cold.

5. Let Learning be Meaningful and Manageable

Learning should be something students enjoy, not an overwhelming experience. When the entire course is presented at once the students can experience excessive stress and anxiety.

Dripping of course content provides a more student-friendly approach by delivering lessons in smaller, more manageable pieces.

Instead of being pressured to absorb everything in one go learners can process the information in a relaxed rate, thereby making the process more individual and attainable.

When you break up the material and allowing for a few feelings of accomplishment to your students after they finish each section. It helps to maintain the students' enthusiasm, and keep students motivated to keep the learning process.

Shortly, course dripping is a powerful method that helps keep your students focused, motivated, and focused. It's an easy and efficient method to change the way you deliver your courses, making learning an enjoyable experience to everyone who participates.

How do I Set-Up Course Content Dripping within Courses

If your students are racing ahead, we should organize your course content to keep students on track and in the course at hand.

As we mentioned a little time ago, Courses makes use of Rules to control the flow of content.

However, any drip settings applied through Rules could conflict with Dripping option built into your course configurations.

So...

  • for a simple seamless experience that is easy to use: If you want your courses to automatically deliver content on an established schedule (like the release of new lessons every week) the new built-in drip function is the most practical choice. It simplifies the process and provides a reliable distribution without the need for additional setup.
  • To have more control that is personalized: If you need the flexibility to release content frequently or at highly personalized times, using Rules allows you to control that. However, this approach requires some time and effort to configure additional Rules.

Keep It Simple: Let's get your Drip Content flowing smoothly!

For setting up your course's Dripping of content, begin by switching the "Enable Dripping" option in your course settings.

In the next step, you'll have to specify how the content is to be distributed, either in a the section or for each article. It is also possible to set the time frame (daily daily, weekly or even monthly) and choose the start day and time zone of every content release.

What's the next step for course offerings? What should we say? What's New...

Course Dripping might be the latest and greatest feature we've rolled out for Courses, but it's far from the only change we've recently made.

Before diving into dripping, take a moment to go over some other exciting changes you might have seen within the plugin.

We continue to develop the tools available for your online classes, we came to the realization that the increasing number of tools - such as lessons, quizzes, assignments and even the Gradebook required their own dedicated space.

That's why we've given Courses its own menu item in the WordPress dashboard.

Everything that is related to your courses - whether it's creating a new course, building out your curriculums, or tweaking course setting - is managed directly from the Courses menu on the Dashboard.

Making Courses separate from its own menu item allows you to keep your course creation and management of membership tasks separate and efficient, especially for businesses that rely on both.

If you're a user, you've likely noticed this slight rearrangement. We're hoping you'll find this new layout cleaner and more streamlined!

But, if you're just getting to the world of learning and are eager to begin building your courses it's possible you're wondering how to access these amazing features.

Simply open the plugin and navigate into the Add-Ons section, do a simple search for "course" to narrow the options available, and then are all the learning tools that are now bigger than the core plugin's capabilities:

Stay tuned for more new features and updates in the coming months. For now, you can take advantage of the newly added course content drip feature and look into the other enhancements we've made to make your course design easier than before!
