Motion graphics The CreativeMindClass Blog
What is your background?
"My Name is Sylvia Boomer Yang. I'm an illustrator animator and GIF artist who is based in Brooklyn, New York. As part of my job as an artist, I create motion graphics, animated illustrations and storyboards for explainers, videos, and mobile apps. But what I really enjoy doing as a side project is make funny and fun cartoons and stickers that make people smile and encourage them to communicate their ideas."

"I was born in Taiwan and started with the fine arts school as a child. I've always loved drawing, but I began to be stymied by a very traditional education method. I was feeling like I could not express my personality and voice through the classical tools that art uses. Learning about fine art certainly helped me build the base for where I am today."

"I switched to design school in college before moving to New York for grad school. It was then that I began to experiment with digital animations as well as animation. Animation provided me with the ability to blend animation and motion to tell a story with a lively manner. I really enjoyed discovering how to make still images come to life."

What's the secret for creating animated graphic?
"I love to work with an empathetic sense and strong emotions that help people feel at ease, while using different media, and creating my own unique design style. Designing can be really enjoyable!"

"Collaboration/teamwork is one of the keys I evaluate a lot. I enjoy how people come up with ideas as a team, and also believe that good work typically is made by a collection of people with different strengths and skill sets.
Everyday, I wouldn't stop creating things that make me feel inspired. When not designing motion graphics, I can be found making a chaos in my kitchen (lots cook!) or making crafts. I love to travel to Brooklyn market and try my hand with various ingredients at home. There is a world full of amazing things. I am a sucker traveling and exploring new cultures, communities and art that is innovative."
