In the beginning of January, Nia Pettitt officially opened the doors of The Curl Bar the salon that caters to curly hair located in London. The reason for the creation of the salon by Nia did not only focus on creating a beautiful experience for clients and beautiful, but also providing the chance to everyone to be welcomed and admired.

Create a brick-and-mortar business to exist

Setting up a salon for hair with curly locks has been the goal for Nia's. "I often traveled to America for my hair to done, because it was difficult to find hair salons in London or the UK," she says. "I was looking to design something that was at a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere and that reflected what I wanted to be when a young girl." People were captivated by my concept when they walked through the doors of The Curl Bar The Curl Bar, the appointments swiftly were filled.

"Your lifestyle changes when you begin to think about opening a business. You must be prepared for the new challenges." Nia advises aspiring business entrepreneurs. There is no way to tell what changes were going to happen in the future for Nia and the Curl Bar. Within three months of the opening of the bar, it was shut down for a time because of COVID-19 closures in the UK. Even a definite stop in the operation of the salon did not deter Nia's growth.

"I did not have a strategy to expand the business or even in the case of an outbreak" she states. "I am just taking each day as a learning experience to learn from." When The Curl Bar was closed, Nia shifted her focus on social mediaand engaging with stylists, as well as her following on social media until the Salon was allowed to be reopened.
