Sharing ideas and thoughts with fellow Black photographers helps him feel the camaraderie which is aspect of a profession where it can be difficult to feel a sense of isolation in times. Karl will do everything he can to assist others throughout his professional career, so he can create an environment of the same type that is a great resource for the most creative and innovative artists working in this field. "Paying forward is a sign that I'm available," Karl says. In sharing his wisdom and knowledge, Karl hopes to help fellow creatives achieve the very best that they could be.
If asked to offer advice to his younger self an individual who's just begun on the path of photography, Karl's advice would be "Don't get so intense that you stop enjoying creating. Just taking a deep breath and actively being a part of the process might be your most effective approach as a photographer."

Black In Corporate
Social media specialist as well as a spokesperson Candace Marie is the founder of Black In Corporate Black In Corporate, a community that advocates for Black employees in the work place. The concept for Black In Corporate was born out of her personal experience in workspaces where systemic racism is making it difficult for Black employees to achieve. "While Black In Corporate was developed from my own personal experiences," Candace says, "a key reason that led to the formation of this non-profit was the realization that there were many Black individuals in my circle that had experiences similar, but different from my own personal experiences."
One of the core concepts that Black In Corporate is based on is their online mentorship program. This program offers Black professionals the opportunity to gain access to opportunities, collaboration, and resources. Their Black In Corporate website has played an integral role in spreading information about the program's benefits to the target market. "While the news media and social media are the primary drivers for visitors however, the stunning style and simplicity of navigation within the website keep our audience engaged and coming back," Candace says about the effectiveness of their website.
The expression "it is a village effort" especially rings with Candace who is on her way to launching the brand Black In Corporate. Success has been enhanced thanks to the assistance from mentors, sponsors as well as family members and friends who have accompanied her along her journey. In so many ways, Candace offers similar assistance for Black professionals. "This procedure isn't too difficult by itself," she says. "Whenever I'm in the position to give advice or sit on a panel, or make an introduction to a contact to a person I'm committed to helping those that are Black persons in this field."

Elton Anderson Jr.
In the last 14 years, Elton Anderson Jr. worked as a photographer photographer, shooting famous people and the biggest brands of popular culture. He made the decision to shift his focus after he realized that the work was something he had always loved wasn't nearly so fulfilling. After a life-threatening case of malaria while on a vacation in Brazil, Elton vowed to devote his entire life towards improving his own life and those around him.
Now, Elton is doing just the same thing with the work he does every single day. Alongside seeking out new positions including producer or creative director in addition to hosting travel shows, Elton also launched Creators of Color which is a platform that focuses in telling the stories of Black creators in diverse disciplines.
For Elton making changes is an essential part of creative thinking. Elton's advice for younger Black creatives looking to change their work is to go with their instincts. "If there's no method to affirm, it's not an affirmative answer," Elton says. "This method has allowed me to make my career switch much effective and precise to what I've observed."
