How to Get out of overwhelm as a coach -

Jun 21, 2024

Many coaches I've spoken to feel overwhelmed by all the things they have to accomplish.

The company isn't sure whom their ideal client is.

They've got too many offers.

They try too many different things to try and get attention and lead.

There's no clear way to sign up people for their program.

There are too many softwares that they have for gluing together using elastic bands and zaps.

They are too focused on their clients, and then end up burning out, even though they are passionate about their coach.

Are any of these topics in tune with you?

There are three kinds of overstress that I regularly see coaches suffer from:

Strategies that overwhelm

Clients overwhelmed

Systems are overwhelmed

Let's look at them each one at a.

Strategy Overwhelm

In terms of strategies, the majority of coaches have too many offers, they're trying to do too many things in order to attract attention and get leads, and often they can't decide about which kind of client to target.

They're also not clear about how they'd like to do the sales to get participants to join their program.

At first you'll be experimenting. That's okay.

But you really want to be able to hit your Five Ones.

The Five Ones say that if you concentrate only on...

One avatar

One traffic source

One deal

One enrollment mechanism

One year

It is possible to earn a million dollars in revenue.

If you're not at the million dollars and you've reached your million dollar mark, do not even consider adding a second avatar, a second website, a different advertisement, or even a different registration mechanism.

Coaches who don't make enough money to pay the salaries they'd like think they need to add more offers and products, additional avatars, or more sources for traffic ... all in the hope of expanding their market so they can bring in more clients.

When the exact opposite is in fact the situation.

The goal is to narrow it down. Make sure you are specific. Choose.

It's about taking the correct decision.

It's about making a decision, and making it right.

It is possible to make any one of them work.

Select one you like, and then stick to it until you hit the million dollars.

I understand how challenging this could be.

If you have the proper mentorship and support, you will be able to make them succeed.

If someone else has succeeded at it, then that it's a possibility.

After that, it's simply finding the right details.

Clients Overwhelmed

Although coaches enjoy coaching and adore our clients but sometimes, it's a bit much.

If you're putting in a lot of 1:1 work for clients, it's very easy to burn out.

You're constantly saying the same things over and over again.

There is something absolutely brilliant just flow out of your mind during an interview, and you don't be able to pinpoint the source. The sensation is incredible!

But now you're bummed that more people won't get to hear your brilliance, because you're saying this in a private 1:1 meeting!

A few coaches do not just 1:1 work, but they're also doing the work on behalf of their clients. It's a done-for-you model.

And yes, you can increase your fees so that you get paid better as a coach, and possibly take on fewer clients.

But it's fundamentally not scalable.

What's scalable is group coaching.

Craft a group program in which you work with all your clients simultaneously.

You deliver templates, frameworks as well as live group coaching and even a community.

Not only do they get you however, they also gain the other.

That means that as the number of clients increases, so too does the effectiveness of your service.

If you're not currently offering group coaching or if a group-coaching program isn't the mainstay of your organization, this must be your priority, and it should definitely be the "One offer" within the Five Ones.

Systems overwhelm

It's pretty common these days to use the following: five or seven, eight, or even more different softwares to run your coaching company.

Webhosting such as Wordpress or Wix

Software for marketing emails or the ESP (Email Service Provider) similar to MailChimp or ConvertKit

Carts for shopping such as Shopify or Samcart

Course platform or LMS, such as Teachable or Kajabi

Video host such as Vimeo or Wistia

Funnel software or page builder like LeadPages, ClickFunnels, or

Community-oriented software like Circle or MightyNetworks

Scheduler such as Calendly or SavvyCal

Survey tool similar to TypeForm or SurveyMonkey

Tracking tool for affiliates such as Tapfiliate and Post Affiliate Pro

Sales Pipeline similar to Pipedrive or Close.com

CRM similar to Hubspot or Ontraport

   Zapier to join them all!

There's a bit of overlap in this list since some of these tools do multiple things.

However, there may be other words that are often used and I didn't mention.

You see the list gets rather long quite quickly.

It not only adds up to a hefty cost per month.

This also means a lot of additional work and the mental energy of your.

There's first the issue of exhaustion of deciding on each of these tools.

Each category is represented There are a variety of options that each has some strengths and drawbacks as well as some that span multiple categories.

It is important to test them all, then decide on the best one to use Then figure out how they integrate with the rest of your stack.

And then comes the actual integration.

Do they speak directly to one another, or are you required to utilize Zapier to "zap" them together?

This is another headache, and the connections are weak.

They'll break, especially during your vacation and it's up to you (or your team, if you have one, and if they are able to figure it out), to fix it.

There's also the psychological bandwidth that comes with switching between softwares, each of which is doing things a little differently.

It creates a lot of context switching where it is necessary to switch your working style each and every minute.

If your logo is being uploaded at more than four locations you might want to look for a smarter alternative.

With NO zaps.

The glue isn't there.

There are no rubber bands.

Everything you need to run your business from all in one location.

It's like finding your home along the interent.

And all the parts talk effortlessly with one another.

Your clients only have only to fill in their details only once and then you will can store it within your database.

You can connect their opt-in to their application for them to schedule an appointment with you to discuss strategy.

Easy. Clean. Simple.
