How would you describe the style you prefer?
It's somewhere in between stylized and realistic fantasy illustration. I rely on a variety of muted and aquatic color palettes and tend to work with organic, flowing shapes. I believe that my "style" as an illustrator is heavily determined by my color palette and the subject matter I actually choose to paint but not always how it's painted. I used to work with a more linear style , but recently I've changed to a more loose and more painterly style.
What's the secret for creating drawings of fantasy art?
Then I'll go over them again until it appears to be closest to what I imagine the image in my mind (within the reason that I don't want to spend months on a single painting). It's my goal to make my designs more complex to the limit and never settle for an unsatisfactory illustration. I'd rather spend a lot of time to get the fantasy illustration right instead of rushing through it.
How can viewers see the fantasy drawings you've created?
I'll be a part of the upcoming "Oceans and Currents" exhibition on display at Gallery Nucleus in July! While you wait you can follow me through Instagram. There are prints available in my online store Bandcamp if anyone would be curious!
Also, I have a YouTube and Bandcamp to those who are interested in the music I'm releasing, as I will release more tracks very soon.
Brigitte's Background
I received my degree in the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and I work currently in the industry of entertainment arts as conceptual artist and illustrator. I also have an ongoing innovative project named Pearl Farm that I draw drawings. I write, and sing original songs.
The illustrations for the article come from my personal project, Pearl Farm. This is my story that I wrote, it follows a traveling musician called Vinny and her pet ray Hubble when they journey their way across the globe known as The Lofty Coastline.
