In the afternoon of Sunday, I was able to catch Olga sharing Instagram posts about my neighborhood from childhood. Within Warsaw's concrete jungle is a less-known and sacred green area. I would visit it in the summer to stare at gorgeous old pines and take a breath of nature inside my urban airways. In her tale, Olga visited this area for the first time but she also got mesmerized by one of the longest backyards in Warsaw. It is my bet she'll paint the Boernerowo-inspired painting.

We asked Olga what she uses as the basis for designing her minimalist collages as well as paintings of human-shaped landscapes
"My name is Olga Szczechowska, and I'm living in Warsaw. Since the age of a youngster, I've been painting and drawing often. I was a student at the art high school, and studied painting and Cultural Studies at the University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Torun.

I'm a painter, illustrator, and sometimes graphic designer. In my practice, I examine the interplay between humans and nature, carefully observing the way we create nature in our own backyards. By looking at trimmed hedges as well as decorative plants and well-designed home gardens I'm capturing the strange beauty of the surroundings around us."

"For many years, I've made simple collages. These collages were drawn from landscapes, still lifeor created as a result of experimentation with forms, textures and colors.

My work is diverse since collage and painting are very different, but they share one thing that they share: they relax. I've heard this phrase repeatedly from my viewers and think it best describes the nature of my art. When I'm bored of drawing, I do collages and vice versa. A certain style can be a brief way to escape the different.

I think observation is key. I pay attention to everything I see, including the environment, architecture and objects. All this is reflected in my art. Through my work, you are not able to see the human , however, we are able to feel the human presence in trimmed hedges or in a mug left in the kitchen table."
