Today, three principles drive Becky's marketing

It's not necessary to keep up with the latest social media trends

Choose long-term strategies over instant pleasure

Maintain your peace of mind at work and build a business that lasts

There's a feeling that a emerging trend in marketing pops everywhere. Trying to keep up could lead towards feeling overwhelmed and diverted from your priorities. Becky took the conscious decision to focus instead on the tactics and strategies that will work for her.

In the present, it's getting rid of social media sites that create more stress than success.

"I am really reaching the limit of my ability with social media," she explains. "I've removed myself from Facebook, which feels fantastic. It's the same with Instagram will be a bit less crowded. too much time there either."

Becky's main guiding rule, letting go of the 'shoulds', also applies to social media. Particularly in the case of doing too much at once.

"It is beginning to feel like a lot. It's time to start creating an account on TikTok, and then I have to create an additional Reel... a photo in addition to video. Additionally, I must have some really creative ideas in order to create a Twitter. And then I need to be able to post something on Medium. The amount is too high," Becky describes.

"I think we are reaching this point of overwhelming as a species, and people are starting to say, 'I have to change some thing.'"

Instead of making something completely new entirely from scratch for each platform, find new ways to use your previous work. As an example, you could transform the YouTube video into shorter videos for TikTok as well as Instagram Reels. The video transcript could be the foundation of your newsletter or blog article.

What does it look like when you have the power toown your audience? Your communication with them is via a channel or platform that you manage, such as an email newsletter, online community, or even your site.

Here's how Becky describes the value of email for owning your customers.

2. Make sure you choose long-term approaches over instant pleasure

After nearly two decades in the business world, Becky has a good idea of what strategies for marketing are most effective for her. She is now returning to those tried-and-true techniques -- even if they require a bit longer to be repaid.

When you're building a business It can be tempting to seek out methods to market that yield results quickly. It's easy to feel discouraged even if you're not seeing immediate outcomes, however the methods that require time and effort in the beginning usually will result in stronger, lasting connections to your target audience.

The kind of work Becky performs demands honesty and vulnerability for her clients. As such, they need to feel safe when they work with her prior to coaching. Consistent communication through her email newsletter helps establish that confidence.

"Before people do one-on-one work together with me, they typically are on my email list for six months or even a one year period," the woman explains. "I'm sending them emails every week and for them to get to know me. Some of them purchase something of a small amount, and then, after several years, the clients who will be my personal clients finally invest [in coaching]."

The Gutsy Boss Podcast is yet another important element of Becky's long-game strategy. "That's took a while to earn a profit," says Becky. "I've had my podcast for the past four years, and I'm just beginning to see every month I'm having an increase in the number of people who listen to my podcast."

SEO means making your website as well as your content and product easier for people to find by using search engines. Content that is optimized will show up more in search results for appropriate words and terms. If you can optimize your content, the easier it is for your target audience to discover it through the search engine.

Becky ran a content marketing agency prior to becoming an instructor in the field of SEO. SEO has been able to stand the test of time across careers.

"SEO is a tried and true strategy that is effective," she says. "SEO is a lengthy sport, but one that pays dividends. Instead of creating an item that's got the shelf-life of just two minutes, SEO is an ongoing shelf that will go on for years."

Because she optimizes the blog's and web-based content with her specific audience in mind, possible clients are able to find her content via search. When they find it her blog, the content she has to offer as well as her unique viewpoint keeps them interested, watching as well as subscribing to her newsletter and frequently turning into clients.

"I was the only one who could answer that question because there wasn't someone other than me who answered the question that way. If it was the last solution they came up with, then it was the answer that resonated and that means I answered with the manner they wanted to hear, and then they're going be inclined to collaborate together with me."

Finally, Becky finds herself networking (what she calls is an "old school way to market") and using the network to connect with more prospective clients.

"Getting out and talking to my current network, and engaging in old-fashioned networking in person for meeting new people... being able to speak to the audiences of other people has been highly beneficial, whether it's gatherings or just working with others," she says.

What do all these techniques for building audience their common? They can help Becky maintain a vital balance between work and life, something that has become more important more than ever before for creatives in the past few years.

3. Protect your work-life harmony to develop a company that will last

"It felt like, all of a sudden, every business was an online business during the pandemic. It caused a mass burnout," Becky recalls. "I'm feeling it from many individuals: We're all exhausted from the demands of running an online company."

Becky seeks out ways to grow her audience and company without detracting from her lifestyle that she's created and wants to continue to build. "I have a family, and I'd love to have an existence. I don't want my life to be creating videos all day long."

"How can I make the most effective choices to allow me to live the life I want and still expand my following?"

Productivity and growth could be great things, but not when they are at the cost of your mental health.

"I would like to consider the ways I can use my time most effectively but not simply because I'm looking to do more work however, I desire to lead a fulfilling existence."

Get rid of the "shoulds' and build the business you want to be in

Becky helps her clients build businesses without burning out. It's evident that comes from years of getting that balance for herself.

Her company has come a long way since her first course launched on in 2018. But the heart and soul of her coaching in helping people get rid of their'shoulds and'shoulds' -- is steadfast in the products, content, and own approach to expansion.
