My story
My name is Ekaterina Boguslavskaya. I was born in Russia.
I went to school in Moscow however, I also was a summer camper out in the country.
It was cold and there was no hot water The house was heated with a furnace, and the neighbors raised cows and goats. Wonderful times! Besides nature and bicycles I was a huge fan of cartoons. All my peers became adults and stopped enjoying cartoons, but I did exactly the opposite! I realized that this could be my most-loved activity. That's how I got into the film academy in Moscow, Russia.

My style
I want my drawings to always bring out some deeply emotional emotions. It's like sitting by the fireplace after an afternoon of ski in the woods.

My method
I love drawing. The process has a lot in common with meditation. When I'm working, it may get dark outside, I'll get hungry, but it doesn't really matters while I'm working.

Today, I am employed in the illustration industry as well as animation... And I even design board games. It is a joy to do the work I do.
I've always been drawing a lot. However, it began to look better after I completed my studies. Because I began to decide the way and what I would draw.

My advice to doubtful visual artists
Find something you love and love about your time with it. Do your best to not listen to others when you don't like what they do. Everything will work out! And there will be people who are going to love what you do.

My technique
I draw almost everything on my iPad in Procreate. Sometimes I finish an item with Photoshop.
The iPad has really changed my lifestyle. Now I work in my bed, at cafes, libraries. I choose a place to work, I move around, I am not confined to sitting in front of my computer. So the iPad is an amazing tool that blends traditional drawing and computer-generated drawing.

The iPad comes with amazing brush brushes. For example, I got watercolor brushes through "The Watercolor MaxPack - Brushes for Procreate". Every time I use them, I am ecstatic. I make use of the brushes. They are very close to the real thing as possible.

Some words on how I do my job.
I try to make an outline sketch of objects. As I find hard edges harsh and cold.
Sometimes I make my shadows cold and bluish by using the multiply setting. Sometimes I employ overlay. However, I'm not sure very much.

Procreate has some good blur settings, try the settings! There are several varieties, which are very effective. But mostly I draw as I do it with classic materials on canvas or paper.
I'm still searching, still studying my subjects, and trying to get closer to my image that I love by creating personal work.

About the Teriberka series
I went there after my trip (to Teriberka). Russian North, the Arctic. It was a town that were able to construct ships and catch a lot of fish. Now it's kind of abandoned.
Google it, please! It's stunning.

I always like the North.
I am a fan of the animals, the people as well as the multitude of colors of Moss. The tiny berries have a lot of vitamin C, which is more than any tropical fruit. It's very impressive.
Northern rock formations look similar to the skin of huge elephants! This is the feeling that I tried to show in these photos.

Concerning the Tiny Things series
This project came into my mind after I had become exhausted of work, the pandemic and the city.

I bought a macro lens and went deep into the woods. And how much incredible beauty was under my feet! Each and every inch was beautiful. It gave me plenty of inspiration and creativity. It was how this project was born.
No matter what happens no matter what happens, there's a wonder just beneath your feet!

How I organize my work time
It is a challenge to manage time and rest, to refuse offers that are not particularly suitable. Also, to commit to lots of tasks, and to try without getting tired from doing the things you enjoy. The whole thing I'm trying to master.

About the creative blocks
The hard element is the actual process and sometimes the process doesn't take place. It's not what I like about the outcome. This means you'll have to suffer for 8 hours and then get annoyed. After that, just a few days after, you can redo the task in just an hour, and the result looks perfect. What's that? Magic.

My little advice about how to get over the creative blockages
When there is some kind of task - do not sit down immediately to draw (if you can). Allow your mind to think in the background while you're busy doing other things. It's the way I see that the most effective solutions will come.

What do I think of my work
If I were to grade my own work , I would never give myself the grade of "excellent". It's exhausting, and I am a slave to myself. On the other hand it pushes me ahead.
Drawing is like a great adventure!
If you have tickets to another country. You have a knowledge of it from Google, something will surprise your right there. It seems to be an exciting adventure to me.

There are her work on, and keep an eye out for an expansion of the series shown here via Instagram , Artstation or Behance.
